SGC had the pleasure of renovating more than 110,000 SF at D2L’s global headquarters in the Tannery building – a historical industrial complex in downtown Kitchener, built in 1896. D2L’s presence in this district helped build our community’s reputation as an internationally-renowned tech hub. They now have offices in London, Australia, Singapore and the US.

This project was a corporate tenant fit-up from base building shell. Construction included open-concept, ultra-modern offices; meeting rooms; a large cafeteria; employee kitchens; and washrooms. The design included many interesting architectural features including the preservation of exposed antique brick walls. Challenges included overcoming the “eccentricities” of a century-old building shell such as uneven floors, crumbling brickwork and excessive dust.

Privacy and SG Cunningham

SG Cunningham is committed to protecting the privacy and the personal information of our clients. We recognize that maintaining the trust of our clients requires that we be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that you choose to share with us.

During the course of our various projects and initiatives, SG Cunningham uses personal information. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of, or other dealing with, this information is subject to consent. SG Cunningham’s privacy practices are designed to achieve this.

Defining Personal Information

Privacy Practices and Protection of Information

SG Cunningham observes the following ten privacy principles when collecting, maintaining and using personal information:

Unless the individual consents otherwise or it is required by law, personal information shall only be used or disclosed for the purposes for which it was collected. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

6. Accuracy

Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as possible in order to properly satisfy for the purposes for which it is to be used.

7. Safeguards

Personal information shall be protected by appropriate security relative to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Openness

An organization shall make detailed information about its policies and practices relating to the management of personal information publicly and readily available.

9. Individual Access

Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.

10.Challenging Compliance

An individual shall be able to challenge an organization’s compliance with the above principles. Their challenge should be addressed to the designated individual or individuals accountable for the organization’s compliance with PIPEDA.

Information Collection

We collect information from you when you fill out a form on our website. You will be asked to enter your email address. If your request requires follow-up your may include your full name, day-time phone number and any relevant address information.

We may also collect personal information as we enter into agreements with our clients when undertaking a project.

How Personal Information is Used and Disclosed

The personal information we collect may be used for the purpose for which it was collected, as provided in this Privacy Policy, or for other purposes that are disclosed to you and to which you consent.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used to send you information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.

We will not share your information with any other party, unless it is pertinent to the job (for instance: sharing your address with a sub-trade).

SG Cunningham uses advanced security to help protect your personal information.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we are committed to protecting your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us.

SG Cunningham’s computer and network systems are secured by passwords and multi-factor authentication. Only authorized individuals who require personal information to perform their job duties may access secure systems and databases.

When we destroy personal information, we will use safeguards to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to the information during the process.
